    • Step 2 Completing your Application in Osiris

      Completing your Application in Osiris

After successfully registering in Studielink, you will receive an email from Codarts (noreply@codarts.nl) requesting you to complete your application in Osiris Application. This email contains a link to Osiris, along with a username and password. Do not create a new account in Osiris—use the login details provided in the email. In some cases, the email may end up in your spam folder, so be sure to check there as well.

Your application for the entrance exams will only be considered if your registration in both Studielink and Osiris is completed before the application deadline.

In Osiris, you will select the main subject you wish to study (you may choose multiple options). Based on a questionnaire, we will ask you to provide several items. It is important to prepare or have the following ready:

      • Motivation letter
      • Musical CV (including everything you have done musically so far)
      • Music videos*

*Please include links (YouTube, Google Drive or Vimeo) to at least 3 video recordings in contrasting styles by different composers or your own work (each video approximately 4 minutes). Preferably performed with a band/ ensemble. Make sure you are clearly visible in the videos so the committee can accurately assess your skills, technique, and potential. CDs, DVDs, and MP3s are not accepted.

Please note: the admission requirements for Jazz Composition differ from the above requirements. Click here for the admission requirements for Jazz Composition.

    • Step 3 Evaluation of your online portfolio

      Evaluation of your online portfolio

Based on the materials submitted in Osiris Application, the admissions committee will decide whether you will be invited to take an entrance exam at Codarts.
You will receive the result of the pre-selection by email from the Administrative Service Centre.

In Step 4, you will find more information about what happens if you are invited to the entrance exam.

    • Step 4 Entrance exam

      Entrance exam

During the entrance exam, your aptitude, knowledge, skills, and potential for development will be assessed. The entrance exam consists of three different components:

      Practical component
In the practical part, we assess your talent, knowledge, skills, and development potential in your main subject.
For subject-specific criteria, please refer to the links under admission requirements at the bottom of this page.

      Theoretical component
You will be tested on your theoretical knowledge. The theory exam will be online a couple of wheeks before your practical exam. For the specific requirements click here.

      Motivation interview
You will be invited for the motivation interview if you are declared “eligible” during the practical exam.
This online interview takes place a few weeks after the other entrance exams and covers:

      • General motivation.
      • The image/idea you have at Codarts.
      • How you think about disciplinarity, interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity.

      Location
Auditions for candidates residing in the Netherlands will only take place live at Codarts. If you are a candidate living in another country, you have the choice of live or online admission. This choice can be made once in the Osiris Application form and cannot be changed.

    • Step 5 Entrance exam results

      Entrance exam results

The programme management, together with the admissions committee, will decide whether you will be invited to come study at Codarts. You will receive the result of the entrance exam by email. Codarts has a limited number of study places available, so it may take some time before you receive a final decision by email regarding your admission status.

      Placement or waiting List
Codarts admits only a limited number of students. If the maximum number of students has been reached, candidates may be placed on a waiting list.
Placed candidates are requested to inform Codarts within one month whether they will actually enrol in the programme.
