This year too, Codarts and Jazz International Rotterdam are hosting the finals of the Erasmus Jazz Prijs. This unique event for up-and-coming jazz talents is now in its 24th edition. In the finals the competing talents go all the way to be the best musicians they can be. They challenge themselves, explore the limits of music, not afraid of going beyond. Expect a very varied and unique jazz programme, featuring the best young musicians of today. The finalists were selected by the audience and a jury of professionals in qualifying rounds held at BIRD (13 February) and LantarenVenster (17 February).
After last year’s successful premiere Codarts Pop presents the second edition of the Codarts Pop Orchestra. This year you will only hear songs created by the students themselves tonight – their ‘own work’. Performed by super talented singers, accompanied by a great orchestra consisting of the best students from the Jazz, Pop, World Music, and Classical Music departments at Codarts, under the inspiring leadership of Ronald Kool.
Up-and-coming dancers, full of explosiveness and energy. That is what you will see during the Talent On The Move show of Holland Dance Festival and Codarts Rotterdam, the hotspot for contemporary dance. Talent On The Move shows varied choreographies by renowned and up-and-coming choreographers, performed by third-year dance students from Codarts Rotterdam.
Today you hear the result of the collaboration between the classical music and world music department of Codarts during the project week! The OTRA tango orchestra is the hub of the Argentine Tango study program at Codarts.
Students of the Classical Music department have the opportunity to gain stage experience and expand their repertoire during the Codarts Lunch Concerts. These are free of charge and start at 12.30 hours. From 12:00 hours you are welcome to have a cup of coffee or tea.

Johan de Meij, Holland’s most successful composer for wind music, who resides in New York since 2007, is coming to Rotterdam to conduct the brass players of Codarts with a special program of his own compositions and instrumentations. Please note: venue is not accessible for people in a wheelchair.
