  • Talent for and affinity with jazz
  • Good feeling for timing and intonation
  • Ability to improvise
  • Major and minor scales
  • Arpeggios based on three and four-note chords
  • Sight-read simple themes and chord sequences
  • Perform standards and jazz originals in ensemble setting
  • Sufficient level of ear-training development
