A total of 7 students Classical Music, Jazz, Pop, Circus, Dance, and Arts Therapies were selected to present their research projects to the audience, receiving a prize of 250 euro. On top of that, there were presentations from Micha Hamel (former Codarts professor), Rachel Beckles Willson (new Codarts professor), and all the Codarts Research Fund researchers also shared their work-in-progress or finished results. Codarts provides its students with time, space and coaching so that they can develop themselves to become artists, leaders and coaches in an inspirational environment. A safe learning and working environment for all the students, employees and teachers forms an integral part of our educational system. While emergency teams are doing tremendous work in the region, many students and staff asking what they can do to help. The Netherlands Red Cross and other official aid organisations are calling for financial donations. That way, they can provide quick and effective short- and long-term help. There is also a need for resources for which various collection campaigns have been set up. “There’s nothing better than seeing students bring out the best in each other” Put together 10 to 20 talented singers, backed by a stellar orchestra consisting of a 17-member woodwind section, 23 string players and a rhythm section, and you’ve got the Codarts Pop Orchestra: a crossover project led by Ronald Kool. The Orchestra’s star is rapidly rising beyond the walls of Codarts – having appeared on popular Dutch TV show and collaborated with rapper sor, as well as playing festivals across the Netherlands. Supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the PD programme will run within Dutch Universities of Applied Sciences as an equivalent to the PhD. Its focus is on training investigative professionals , rather than professional researchers . The Arts + Creative PD has been developed by professors from 15 universities for arts and design in the Netherlands. Over the next 7 years, Codarts will hope to host 2 candidates.
