Codarts is een stevig in de Rotterdamse samenleving gewortelde internationale hogeschool die kwalitatief hoogwaardige bachelor- en masteropleidingen aanbiedt op het gebied van muziek, muziektheater, dans, circus, muziek- en danseducatie en muziek- en danstherapie.

Per 1 september 2024 is Codarts voor de afdeling Klassieke Muziek op zoek naar een:
Hoofdvakdocent Piano
(ca. 0,3 fte = ca. 12,00 uur per week)
De klassieke pianoafdeling van Codarts kenmerkt zich door intensief contact tussen de docenten, studenten en de vakgroepvertegenwoordiging onder andere door middel van team teaching en heeft goede tot uitstekende faciliteiten: zo zijn alle vleugels (Steinway en Yamaha) onlangs vernieuwd en is er zowel een Yamaha Enspire disklavier als een Steinway Spirio|r aanwezig. Ook bezit de afdeling een door Chris Maene gebouwde kopie van een Graf fortepiano. In de nabije toekomst zullen daaromheen diverse activiteiten worden georganiseerd.
Maandelijks zijn er gezamenlijke groepslessen en “informed practice”-sessies en er worden regelmatig masterclasses georganiseerd. Een breed palet aan stijlen en rollen (begeleiden, kamermuziek, solo, orkestmusicus) wordt behandeld in het curriculum zodat de student uitstekend wordt voorbereid op het werkveld.
De werkzaamheden:
Je verzorgt individuele hoofdvaklessen en groepslessen op het niveau van bachelor en master. In het team met de collega-docenten ben je verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling van de studenten op het gebied van zowel artisticiteit als vaktechniek. Verder neem je zitting in beoordelingscommissies van de pianostudenten, alsmede vakgroepoverleggen, ben je aanwezig bij voorspeelmomenten van je studenten en
stem je zaken af met o.a. collega docenten en de collega’s van de studentenadministratie.
De kandidaat:
Onze ideale kandidaat is een gemotiveerde en betrokken docent, is flexibel EN kan op vaste momenten in de week in de lessen en zelfstandig met studenten werken. Je werkt gedisciplineerd en empathisch, bent open-minded en weet anderen te inspireren. Je beschikt over een sterke reputatie en uitgebreide ervaring in het werkveld en aantoonbare didactische kwaliteiten. Tevens heb je uitgebreide ervaring met en kennis van muziekeducatie op het niveau van hoger onderwijs, nationaal en internationaal. Jouw nieuwsgierige houding draagt bij aan de dynamiek binnen Codarts, waarbij je openstaat voor innovatie van het onderwijs. Je bent een teamplayer en enthousiast over teamteaching. Het bezit van een mastertitel of equivalent is vereist en uiteraard beschik je over Engelse taalvaardigheid in woord en geschrift.
Geboden wordt:
- Bij Codarts volgen we de cao HBO. Salariëring conform deze cao in schaal 11 op basis van 1fte: min. € 4.234,28 en max. € 5.936,77 bruto per maand (afhankelijk van opleiding en ervaring).
- Arbeidsvoorwaarden volgens de cao HBO, waaronder een eindejaarsuitkering, fietsenplan, pensioenregeling (ABP), studiefaciliteiten, Rotterdampas, collectieve zorgverzekering.
- De mogelijkheid om je kennis en vaardigheden verder te ontwikkelen.
- Het betreft een jaarcontract met uitzicht op verlenging.

Principal Piano Teacher
(approx. 0,30 fte = 12,00 hours per week)
The classical piano department at Codarts is characterized by intensive contact between teachers, students and departmental representatives by means of team teaching and has good to excellent facilities: for example, all grand pianos (Steinway and Yamaha) have recently been renovated and there is both a Yamaha Enspire disklavier and a Steinway Spirio|r present. The department also owns a Chris Maene-built copy of a Graf fortepiano. Various activities will be organized based around it in the near future.
Monthly there are joint group lessons and "informed practice" sessions, and master classes are organized regularly. A wide range of styles and roles (accompanying, chamber music, solo, orchestral musician) are covered in the curriculum so that the student is excellently prepared for the field.
Your work:
You will provide individual main subject lessons and group lessons at bachelor's and master's level. In the team with colleague teachers you are responsible for the development of the students in both artistry and technique. Furthermore, you take part in assessment committees of the piano students, as well as departmental meetings, you are present at performance moments of your students and you will coordinate matters with fellow teachers and colleagues from the student administration.
The ideal candidate:
Our ideal candidate is a motivated and engaged teacher, is flexible AND can work in classes and independently with students at set times during the week. You have a disciplined and empathetic work ethic, are open-minded and know how to inspire others. You have a strong reputation and extensive experience in the field and demonstrable didactic qualities. You also have broad experience with and knowledge of music education at the higher education level, nationally and internationally. Your curious attitude contributes to the dynamics within Codarts, in which you are open to innovation in education. You are a team player and enthusiastic about team teaching. Possession of a master's degree or equivalent is required and of course you have English language skills in word and writing.
What we offer:
- At Codarts we follow the collective labor agreement HBO. Salary according to this CAO in scale 11 based on 1 fte: min. € 4,234.28 and max. € 5,936.77 gross per month (depending on education and experience).
- Working conditions according to the cao HBO, including, a year-end bonus, bicycle plan, pension scheme (ABP), study facilities, Rotterdam pass, collective health insurance.
- The opportunity to further develop your knowledge and skills.
- A one-year contract with the prospect of extension.
