After studying the earlier submitted position papers and examinations, the visitation panels have spoken during these days with (delegations of) board and management, students, teachers, alumni/work field representatives and examination board. The Codarts Student Life team has won a Dutch Higher Education Premium award. The announcement was made by Minister Dijkgraaf of Education, Culture and Science at the annual Comenius Festival on 12 May. The Codarts Student Life programme focuses on the well-being of students in general and on optimising the physical and mental health of students in the performing arts. The prestigious prize for up-and-coming jazz talent was again organised this year by art school Codarts Rotterdam, the Friends of Codarts Foundation and Nedspice. The presentation of the finals was in the hands of Maïmouna Rachels. The jury – Jasper Blom (teacher, Conservatorium van Amsterdam), Anette von Eichel (teacher, University of Music and Dance Cologne), Sigrid Paans (Conservatorium Maastricht) and Linda Bloemhard (Codarts) – announced the winner at the end of the afternoon. The prestigious award for up-and-coming jazz talents was organized for the 25 th time by Codarts Rotterdam, the Friends of Codarts Foundation and Nedspice. The award proved to be a great stepping stone for a number of successful jazz musicians, including Jan van Duikeren, Bart Wirtz, Louk Boudesteijn, Rik Kraak and Stephanie Francke. The final was presented by chairman Joost Patočka and could be followed through a livestream from de Doelen.
