Artistiek Onderzoek
In nauwe samenwerking met onderzoekscoaches en medestudenten ontwikkel je een onderzoeksproject dat je artistieke inzicht verdiept en je professionele praktijk versterkt. Tijdens het programma presenteer je je voortgang in feedbacksessies en deel je de artistieke resultaten van je onderzoek via optredens, opnames of composities.
Studenten nemen daarnaast deel aan verschillende onderzoeksclinics die zich richten op specifieke onderwerpen, zoals methodologie, documentatie en artistiek experimenteren.
Elk jaar wordt het programma afgesloten met Research on Stage, een evenement waarbij geselecteerde tweedejaarsstudenten de artistieke resultaten van hun onderzoek presenteren door middel van liveoptredens en discussies.
Het Artistic Research-team en de onderzoeksdomeinen
Onze onderzoekscoaches zijn zowel ervaren onderzoekers als actieve uitvoerende musici. Zij begeleiden studenten binnen verschillende onderzoeksdomeinen en werken daarnaast als team samen om ieder onderzoeksproject optimaal te ondersteunen.
Performance Practice (Uitvoeringspraktijk)
Coaches: Bárbara Varassi Pega, Federico Mosquera, Aleksandra Tonelli, Kevin Skelton, Andrew Wright
Onderzoek binnen dit domein richt zich op muzikale interpretatie, uitvoeringsstijl en de artistieke keuzes die komen kijken bij het tot leven brengen van muziek. Projecten onderzoeken vaak specifiek repertoire, uitvoeringspraktijken of nieuwe benaderingen van interpretatie.
Compositie | Arrangeren | Film- en mediamuziek (Screen Scoring)
Coach: Federico Mosquera
Dit domein richt zich op het creatieve proces van componeren, arrangeren en het schrijven van muziek voor media. Onderzoek verkent compositiestrategieën, creatieve werkprocessen en de wisselwerking tussen muzikale ideeën en technologie.
Global Musics (Wereldmuziek)
Coaches: Michalis Cholevas, Stephen Meyer
Onderzoek binnen dit domein houdt zich bezig met muziektradities van over de hele wereld, waaronder modale tradities en interculturele muziekpraktijken. Studenten onderzoeken hoe deze tradities hun artistieke vocabulaire kunnen verrijken en nieuwe creatieve richtingen kunnen inspireren.
Jazzimprovisatie
Coaches: Marc van Roon, Sanne Verbogt
Dit domein richt zich op het uitbreiden van de artistieke taal van improviserende musici. Onderzoek verkent vaak nieuwe benaderingen van improvisatie, compositie en samenspel binnen ensembles.
Popmuziek
Coaches: Marc van Roon, Sanne Verbogt
Dit domein richt zich op onderzoek naar creatieve praktijken binnen de hedendaagse popmuziek. Studenten onderzoeken onderwerpen zoals songwriting, muziekproductie, vocale en instrumentale uitvoering en opnamepraktijken. Onderzoeksprojecten verkennen hoe artistieke, technische en samenwerkingsprocessen de muzikale identiteit en professionele praktijk binnen de popmuziekindustrie vormgeven.
Vocal Leadership
Coach: Job ter Haar
Dit domein onderzoekt Vocal Leadership, een methode van koorleiding die zangers stimuleert om een actieve rol te spelen in het muzikale proces. Het onderzoek richt zich op de manier waarop deze benadering repetitiemethoden, samenwerking en artistieke resultaten kan beïnvloeden.
