Throughout this varied programme, the octet alternates with more intimate settings: a sparkling trio, a colourful quartet, and a captivating solo work for one saxophone. The result is a dynamic concert experience in which the saxophone students take centre stage. Tickets available at the door.

The talents play in the orchestra and are accompanied by conductors and other musicians. They also take part in education and chamber music projects. The aim of the orchestra academy is to prepare the talents and give them experience in orchestral practice. Tuba student Yanyi Zeng (student of Hendrik Jan Renes) has been accepted at the Academy for season 2024-2025.
Opus 111 follows the tradition of new music ensembles such as London Sinfonietta, Asko|Schönberg, and Ensemble Modern – ensembles made up entirely of soloists. With this project, we continue a fantastic collaboration with the DoelenEnsemble, one of the most renowned contemporary music ensembles in the Netherlands. Jurjen Hempel will be the guest conductor for this project. As a special feature, at least two of the works performed during the project – selected by both an internal and external jury – will later be included in the DoelenEnsemble’s concert season and premiered as part of their programme. The participating composers are Simone Farò, Dimitris Kollias, Deniz Tuna, Anan Alkadamani, Miguel Alvarez, Marco Cordioli, and Manish Lama.
