On Friday 25 and Sunday 27 September, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem will fill the Main Hall of de Doelen. Conducted by Lahav Shani, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra performs one of Verdi’s most moving and dramatic works together with the Codarts choir.

From moments of profound stillness to the overwhelming power of the famous Dies Irae, Verdi combines sacred music with the emotion and intensity of opera. The orchestra is joined by the Laurens Symfonisch Koor and soloists Aleksandra Kurzak, Annalisa Stroppa, Dmytro Popov and Georg Zeppenfeld.
