Generally

•    Sufficient affinity with the instrument and the accompanying repertoire
•    Sufficient development opportunities
•    Intrinsic motivation for further research on the instrument in relation to your work and practice

 


Drums

•    Playing must be at a high bachelor level
•    Time and timing should be flawless
•    High level of technique skills required; intimate knowledge of classic studies (for example C. Wilcoxon, Mitchell Peters, Stick Control, Gary Chaffee) and the ability to showcase the obtained level.
•    Should be able to interact with other musicians
•    Intimate understanding of the jazz tradition
•    Knowledge and skill in modern styles and odd meter playing
•    Ability to communicate goals in a clear way; experience with self-study
•    Clear ideas about interplay and skilled communication within a band setting
