International Youth Dancer Health Alliance

The International Youth Dancer Health Alliance (IYDHA) is a network of health professionals from leading dance institutions in Europe, the US, and Australia. IYDHA aims to share knowledge and insights on optimising the potential and capabilities of young dancers so they can thrive both within and beyond the dance world. Through knowledge‑sharing events, IYDHA strives to:
• Provide dance students with the knowledge they need to protect their health
• Empower families to support the wellbeing of their dancers
• Equip dance teachers and other professionals working with young dancers with the tools to create an optimal training environment
Goals
• To create accessible learning opportunities for pre‑professional students and dancers in training, as well as for dance teachers and families.
• To build international momentum and make dancer health a priority within dance education by collaborating with leading dance training organisations.
Themed Weeks
Each year, the alliance organises an International Youth Dancer Health Awareness (IYDHA) Week. Themes include:
2025 Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs)
2026 Mobility & Stretching
