On 31 December and 1 January, Sara van Gaans, first-year Bachelor student in Pop Vocals, performed at the New Year’s concert of the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble (NBE). Her performance marked a special moment in one of the Netherlands’ most prominent annual musical events. 

Earlier, on 21 December 2025, Sara won the Composition Competition 2025 at TivoliVredenburg, together with three other young composers. This achievement highlights her exceptional musical talent and creative voice at a national level. 

In her compelling composition Is It Really Too Much To Ask?, Sara reflects on why we sometimes seem to lose sight of what truly matters in the world: peace and love.
