    Video criteria

    As part of the application process, you need to create 2 videos.
    Below you can read about the requirements for these videos:

     

     

    Video 1: Personal introduction and artistic vision

    Total length of 2.30 minutes maximum

     

    Part 1:  

    Who are you? Tell us your name, nationality, specialisation and personal info.


    Format:

    • as in a video conference
    • only your head + shoulders
    • without music
    • 30 seconds maximum

     

    Part 2: Present yourself in a creative context: How do you see circus, what are your artistic interests (circus and/or art in general). Tell us your artistic dreams and show us your extra qualities. Pay attention to the editing of the video and share your vision and ideas with the viewer. Avoid for example to read your motivation letter out loud.


    Format:

    • free choice
    • music or sound scape optional
    • 2 minutes maximum
       

     

    Video 2: Technical and artistic skills

    Total length of 4.00 minutes maximum

     

    Part 1: 

    General physical skills.

    Please respect the order of the requested techniques in the video editing (1. floor acrobatics, 2. flexibility, 3. trampoline, 4. handstand):

     

    1. Exercises floor acrobatics: show us 2 lines in which you integrate cartwheel (both left and right), handstand, jump element(s) and if possible a somersault
    2. Exercises in flexibility: frontal and lateral split, bridge
    3. Only if relevant: exercises on trampoline. This is a free choice. In case you don’t have experience on the trampoline, please mention/edit this very clear in the video text.
    4. Exercises handstand: for each exercise, independently or with assistance from a partner or the wall:
    • show in profile position: getting into handstand and hold for 10 seconds
    • show your level in a 1 arm position
    • show your two best handstand variations


    Format:

    • without music!
    • a compilation of the above mentioned several skills
    • each technical exercise must be recorded in one take
    • only record the exercises (not the preparation)
    • in total 1.5 minutes maximum

     

    Part 2: 

    Highlights of figures in the circus discipline that you are applying with:


    Format:

    • without music!
    • a compilation of technical exercises within your discipline
    • each technical exercise must be recorded in one take in real-time, no fast forward
    • only record the exercises (not the preparation)
    • in total 1 minute maximum

     

     

    Part 3: 

    A short act of non-interrupted patterns or figuresin the circus discipline, that you apply with:


    Format:

    • neutral background!
    • music is optional
    • preferably no fragment from a group performance, unless the focus is clearly on you
    • a continuous recording without editing
    • in total 1.5 minutes maximum

     

    Note: if the documents are not delivered in the correct format (PDF) or language and/or if the videos are longer than the allowed maximum time per video part or not publicly watchable, we cannot accept your application.
