Adjusted application procedure

• Studielink: Go to Studielink and register yourself for the bachelor dance programme. More information about how-to register click here.   
• After a successful registration via Studielink you will receive an e-mail from Codarts (noreply@codarts.nl) with login details for OSIRIS Application. In some cases, this e-mail can go to your spam box, so please keep an eye on it.

After registering in Studielink and logging in to Osiris, we will ask you to answer a number of questions and provide a number of items:

1. Audition application questions 
2. Motivation letter in English and in PDF format - upload
3. Medical statement that allows you to do intense physical training, not older than 3 months and in Dutch/English/German/French - upload
4. Picture (head + shoulders, in PDF format, high resolution, vertical) - upload
5. Upload two video links to universally used video systems (such as f.e. YouTube or Vimeo + publicly watchable):

Video 1: Personal introduction and artistic vision 
Total length of 2.30 minutes maximum
 

Part 1: 

Who are you? Tell us your name, nationality, specialisation and personal info.

Format:

• as in a video conference
• only your head + shoulders
• without music
• 30 seconds maximum
   

Part 2: 

Present yourself in a creative context: How do you see circus, what are your artistic interests (circus and/or art in general)? Tell us your artistic dreams and show us your extra qualities.

Format:

• free choice
• music or sound scape optional
• 2 minutes maximum

Video 2: General physical skills

Total length 3.00 minute maximum

Part 1: 

General physical skills.

Please respect the order of the requested techniques in the video editing (1. floor acrobatics, 2. flexibility, 3. trampoline, 4. handstand):

1. Exercises floor acrobatics: show us 2 lines in which you integrate cartwheel (both left and right), handstand, jump element(s) and if possible a somersault
2. Exercises in flexibility: frontal and lateral split, bridge
3. Only if relevant: exercises on trampoline. This is a free choice. In case you don’t have experience on the trampoline, please mention/edit this very clear in the video text.
4. Exercises handstand: for each exercise, independently or with assistance from a partner or the wall:

• show in profile position: getting into handstand and hold for 10 sec
• show your level in a 1 arm position
• show your 2 best handstand variations

Format:

• without music!
• a composition of the above mentioned several skills
• each technical exercise needs to be recorded in one take
• only record the exercises (not the preparation)
• in total 1.5 minute maximum

Send an email to efloguercio@codarts.nl in which we receive your permission to share your personal contact information with other solo candidates in the same partner discipline (because of privacy regulation we can only share your contact information with written permission).

Note: if the documents are not delivered in the correct format (PDF) or language and/or if the videos are longer than the allowed maximum time per video part or not publicly watchable, we cannot accept your application.

Regulations:

Candidates are put in touch with each other:

• Codarts Circus Arts can facilitate that the single partners meet each other and can train together at Circus Arts in Rotterdam for 1 to maximum 2 weeks.
• Training at Codarts Circus Arts is possible during week days from Monday 8 to Friday 12 December 2025 and/or from Monday 5 to Friday 9 Januari 2026.
• Circus Arts only facilitates the training space and a offers a limited amount of training hours with the specialisation teacher, if possible.
• Travel and accommodation are arranged by the candidates themselves at their own expense. 
• Candidates can propose a preference week for training, this must first be confirmed by Circus Arts via email before it is final.

OR

• Candidates can organize a training elsewhere on their own initiative.

If single candidates find a partner and they apply as specialisation partners, they must submit all points below. This contains amongst others a video showing the work they did with the new partner:

Part 2: 

Highlights of figures in the circus discipline that you are applying with:

Format:

• without music!
• a composition of technical exercises within your discipline
• each technical exercise must be recorded in one take
• only record the exercises (not the preparation)
• show all figures you can execute safely without external support
• show all figures you can show safely with a spotter or longe
• in total maximum 1 minute 30

Only after answering all questions and updating all the requested video material in Osiris before the deadline of 1 February 2026 (00.00h CET) the candidates can enter the regular pre-selection procedure for the audition.  

Continuation of the procedure:

This extra video material must be added to the general application file (letter of motivation, personal video etcetera) and will pass to the pre-selection committee (artistic and technical team). They will evaluate if this duo/group can be invited for the live audition in April. The candidates are informed if they are invited for the audition in the same as all other candidates. The fact that candidates are put in touch with each other is not a guarantee to be invited. The new partner couple will be invited together or not at all.
