Samuel Ruiz is one of the most popular Latin bass players in Europe. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he played the first violin at a young age in the Caracas Symphony Orchestra. Later he fell in love with the double bass and studied at conservatoires in Caracas and in Havana, Cuba.
He regularly tours internationally with artists such as Tito Nieves, Jimmy Bosch, Cheo Feliciano, Mael Ruiz, India, Issac Delgado. He has been living in the Netherlands for a number of years, where he is part of the Cubopcity Bigband, Nils Fischer & Timbazo, Nueva Manteca, Latin Society & Ramón Valle Trio.
