Mark Alban Lotz


Mark Alban Lotz is a multi flutist, improviser and composer raised in Thailand and Uganda. His appetite for musical adventures takes him all over the globe, exploring and redefining divergent traditions. Always on the lookout for vibrant collaborations with unique voices in music. Far from conventional, hitting the essence and celebrating life. Mark maintains a heavy schedule in multiple capacities as bandleader, soloist, composer, producer and curator and is passionately committed to music education and outreach, having given clinics and masterclasses around the world.


Worked with a.o. Indian Underground star Najma Akthar, the nightingale of Tibet Namgyal Llhamo, Romanian accordeon virtuoso Petar Ralchev, NY Salsa veterans Eddy Martinez and Nicky Marrero, conga legend Miguel ‘Anga’ Diaz and members of the Conjunto Folklorico National De Cuba, Yoruba Anabo, Raices and Clavé y Guaguanco. But also jazz artists like Chris Potter, Don Byron, David Tronzo, Claudio Puntin, Carlos Zingaro, Ernst Reijseger, Han Bennink or Thomas Strønen.
