Why do you believe students should come to Codarts?

“Ilja Reijngoud and I offer a diverse (trombone) package, with Ilja’s technical and contemporary approach to compositions and my more traditional approach, as well as my specialty, mental training and coaching, for which I have a post-bachelor certificate.”

What will you teach them?

“The basic techniques of improvising (Timing & Melodic Improvisation). I also stimulate the student to develop an individual style.”

How will you do this?

“Dit ga ik verwezenlijken met een reeks van oefeningen (Beats & Grooves) en ‘horizontale improvisatie’, door nadruk te leggen op de verbindingen van akkoorden. Ook oefenen we hoe je een focus legt en hoe je die vast moet houden.”“I will do so by using a series of exercises (Beats & Grooves) and ’horizontal improvisation’, by stressing the connections between chords. We will also practice focussing and remaining focussed.”
