Double degree

Do you have an artistic or musical talent, as well as a hunger for academic knowledge? Codarts, Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) and Willem de Kooning Academy offer you the possibility to combine theory and practice in a five-year Double Degree programme (300 ECTS). If you follow the RASL programme, you will ultimately receive two bachelor degrees: one from EUR (Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science) and one from Codarts or Willem de Kooning Academy (Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Arts). For the first time in the Netherlands, you can choose between various complementary, in-depth, and artistic interdisciplinary study paths.

The RASL programme offers you the opportunity to develop your knowledge on an academic level, as well as to develop your artistic skills. After this programme, you will be able to address complex and multidimensional challenges – as you will have what it takes to approach issues from different angles. In addition, your artistic practices will benefit from your theoretical knowledge about the arts, media and culture – and vice versa: your theoretical work is fuelled by your experience as an artist.

‘By combining two studies I will become a specialist and create my own professional niche.’ – Iris Pielage
