The alumni duo Kim-Jomi Fischer and Marta Alstadsæter are one of the winners of the BNG Bank Dance Prize 2018. Kim-Jomi (‘an acrobatic dancer’, according to the jury) is a dance alumnus of and now dance teacher at the Circus Arts study programme, while Marta (‘a dancing acrobat’) is an alumna of Circus.
The BNG Bank Dance Prize was awarded at the Korzo theatre in The Hague by Harald Bergmann, the Mayor of Middelburg and a board member of the BNG Cultuurfonds, on 27 January 2018.
Kim-Jomi Fischer and Marta Alstadsæter won the prize—which comes with a cheque for 50,000 euros, to be spent on organising a tour— together with choreographers Antonin Comestaz and Fernando Trova. The premiere and start of their joint tour (DansClick 20) is on 7 November 2018.
Another choreography by prize winner Antonin Comestaz is part of the programme of the current Talent On The Move tour by third-year students of Dance.
This was the fifth time that the BNG Bank Dance Prize was awarded. Last year, two of the three winners were former students of Codarts: Astrid Boons and Ryan Djojokarso.
