Junior class
If music is your favourite hobby and you feel you’re so good that you dream of a career as musician, than we have a training course that will help you achieve your goal; the Junior class at Codarts, University for the Arts.
The Junior class is meant for young pupils who have an above average musical talent and the ambition to become a musician. Codarts, University for the Arts is an excellent school situated in the centre of Rotterdam. You will be taught by teachers who also teach at the Rotterdams Conservatoire. They play as soloist or in an orchestra and remember vividly how they first began when they were just as old as you!
At Codarts you can play practically any instrument or any style of music. We are currently developing a new introductory course for world music: Indian-, Turkish-, Spanish-, Brazilian-, Cape Verdean music and more! Almost all these subjects are taught at the Rotterdams Conservatoire, but of course you can also study classical-, jazz- or pop music here!
The Junior class spans a maximum of four years (Havo class 1 through 3, VWO class 1 through 4; concurrent with your secondary school). The Junior class consists of a weekly main subject lesson by appointment with the vocational training teacher (or his/her assistant) and a theory lesson on Saturday morning.
