Harp teacher Rosetty de Ruiter
From the school year 2009-2010, Rosetty de Ruiter is a regular guest teacher of the Rotterdam Classical Music Academy for the subject 'harmony and improvisation on the harp'.
'Harmony and improvisation on the harp' is a completely new subject, which is not taught at any single Dutch conservatoire except for Rotterdam.
Rosetty de Ruiter gives the harp students lessons in accompanying a melody and in improvisation. Attention is also paid to knowledge of harmony, and the timing of ‘non-classical’ music, among other things.
After passing her piano examination with Hans Derksen at Amsterdam Conservatoire, Rosetty de Ruiter concluded her classical harp study with Vera Badings, solo harpist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
Subsequently she was solo harpist in the Metropole Orchestra for many years. The past 35 years she has experienced the development of the harp in jazz music.
Rosetty is not only a harpist. She also sings, composes and writes harp books.
