Brazilian jazz concert

On Valentine's Day 2010 Jazzpodium Waterweg in Schiedam presents: the Raizes Quartet.

The Raizes Quartet consists of three students and one teacher (Anna Elis de Jong) of the Rotterdam World Music Academy of the Rotterdam Conservatoire. The Raizes Quartet investigates the
variety of Brazilian music through a jazz aproach. The repertorie contains original compositions from the group members and interpretations of Brazilian composers such as Hermeto Pascoal, Milton Nascimento and Chico Pinheiro.

Ten times per year, Jazzpodium Waterweg gives connoisseurs a chance to enjoy a great variety of jazz music; from big band to improvisation, from hot jazz to sultry vocals.
Jazzpodium Waterweg is also keen to make a contribution to developing the careers of young musicians and up-and-coming talent of the Rotterdam Jazz Academy in particular. The one month there are musicians on stage who have already sufficiently earned their spurs; the next month RJA students play out of this world.
